Quickey update

It has been 206 days (7 months) that Coby has been prednisone free & over a month of being chemo free!!! He's still doing good, despite his poor appetite these past few days. It may be related to the restart of the cyclosporine, so we are holding off on that for now. Hopefully this will bring his appetite back. All he will eat are cheap-o milkbone biscuits! LOL

Mid-June update

It is mid-June & Coby continues to do well. I posted a few pics below. The first one is the best - this is what Coby does to me when I try to clean his ears or put eyedrops in. He is seriously trying to attack me. LOL The other 2 are of him & his wood eating fetish. Overall, he's been doing great, except for his allergies. We are now putting prednisone eye drops in to help - it's mostly been the watery/tearing eyes that have been his problem. We plan to restart the cyclosporine next week when it arrives. Other than that, he is energetic, rumbustious, naughty & getting into mischief. He's back to his usual self. He's eating great & gaining weight. He has been prednisone free for 196 days! I believe being off all the chemo has made a huge difference as well. He looks better, healthier & is happier (despite the eyedrop behavior).

Coby has finished his GME treatment!!

Coby's CBC results from Tuesday were normal. The anemia is resolved & everything is back to normal!! The neutrophils are now 6790 (they were 10,164 on May 23rd - I was concerned because they dropped a bit, but Dr. Sisson said the 10,000 was too high). The platelets are up to 295,000 (on the 23rd they were 196,000). It looks like Coby's bone marrow has recovered much faster than we all thought! What a fighter my blue-eyed wonder dog is! We will continue the Keppra & that is it! No more further CBCs or other blood tests are needed!!! Dr. Sisson said I can contact him if anything arises regarding Coby's (supposed) allergies or obviously GME-related! Looks like we are officially done with treatment & hopefully Coby will live a long, healthy happy doggy life! I will continue to post updates on Coby frequently! Thank you everyone for ALL the support over the past year!

Love,
Jaime & Coby
